ময়নামতি ওয়ার সিমেট্রি, এই দর্শনীয় স্থানটি কুমিল্লা ক্যান্টনমেন্টের খুব কাছেই অবস্থিত। এটি ইংরেজ কবরস্থান ময়নামতি ওয়ার সিমেট্রি নামে পরিচিত। সবুজ গাছপালায় ঘেরা পরিচ্ছন্ন এই সমাধি কেন্দ্রটি কুমিল্লা মেন শহর থেকে মাত্র ৯ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত। ময়নামতি ইংরেজ আমলে সৈনিক দের ঘাটি ছিলো। ১৯০৩ থেকে ১৯৪৫ সাল পর্যন্ত এই দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ১৯৪৭ সালে এই যুদ্ধ সমাধিকেন্দ্রটি রাষ্ট্রীয় ভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। সেকাল থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত এই ইংরেজ কবরস্থান টি বাংলাদেশে কুমিল্লার একটি দর্শনীয় স্থান হিসেবে পরিচিতি অর্জন করে। প্রতিবছর এখানে বহু বিদেশী পর্যটক এখানে শহীদের শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে আসে। ইংরেজ কবরস্থান কুমিল্লা বা কুমিল্লা ময়নামতি ইংরেজ কবরস্থান এখন কুমিল্লার বিখ্যাত ইংরেজ কবরস্থান। কুমিল্লা ময়নামতির ইংরেজ কবরস্থান বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম একটি ওয়ার সেমিট্রি। প্রতিবছর নভেম্বর মাসে এখানে ধর্মীয় ভাবে এই কবরস্থানে নিহত সৈনিকদের শ্রদ্ধাজ্ঞাপন করা হয়ে থাকে।

প্রতিদিন সকাল ৭ টা থেকে দুপুর ১২ টা পর্যন্ত।
এবং দুপুর ২ টা থেকে বিকেল ৫ টা পর্যন্ত।

বছরের দুই ঈদের ৩ দিন করে মোট ৬ দিন।

History of Mainamati War Cemetry:

The Mainamati War Cemetery is a war cemetery and a memorial in Comilla, Bangladesh. For Second World War graves from nearby areas during the Second World War. The cemetery contains 736 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War. It was established and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in World War II. It is situated in the Comilla Cantonment area.
Before the war Maynamati was a hamlet of a few dozen huts, but during the war a large military camp was established there. Several ordnance depots and a number of military hospitals, both British and Indian, were in the area, including Nos. 14 and 150 British General Hospitals; and the majority of the burials in Maynamati War Cemetery were from the various hospitals. Graves from isolated places in the surrounding country, and some from as far afield as Burma, were moved into the cemetery by the Army Graves Service and later on by the Commission; and it was found necessary to transfer also graves from small cemeteries at Dacca, Faridpur, Paksay, Saidpur, Santahan and Sirajgany, where they could not be maintained.

The cemetery was started by the Army and laid out by the garrison engineer. It is dominated by a small flat-topped hill crowned with indigenous flowering and evergreen trees. Between the entrance and this hill lie the Christian graves, and on the far side of it are the Muslim graves. On a terrace about half-way up the hill, facing the entrance, stands the Cross of Sacrifice, and on the other side a shelter looks over the Muslim graves to a tree-framed view of the countryside beyond.
